The Department of Economics, conducted a visit to Saketham Charitable Trust, Vylongara with students accompanied by faculty members, on 14^th November 2022. The group departed from the college at 10.00 am, filled with excitement. Upon the arrival at old age home around 11.45 am, the team warmly welcomed by the staff and residents. The visit commenced with an interactive session with the residents and the students presented a series of engaging activities to entertain them. During the interactive session the residents shared their life stories, experiences, and insights, with us, creating an atmosphere of mutual respect and bonding. As part of visit, the students sponsored a special lunch for the residents, with the fund handed over by the department HOD, Sheeja K Sathyan. It was a heartwarming experience for both the students and the elderly residents. The visit winded up at 1.15 pm after bidding heartfelt goodbyes. The programme was a meaningful experience that deepened the bond between the generations and emphasized the significance of community service.
